Music instrument SUR LE PONT

Sur le pont d'Avignon was composed in the 16th century by the composer Pierre Certon. The modern version was composed in the 19th century, edited by Adolphe Adam in 1853. The Pont d'Avignon is one of the most famous bridges in France. Located in the south of France, it spans the Rhône River. In fact, it is only half a bridge, because it was so often swept away by floods that it was not rebuilt in the 17th century after a flood swept away most of it, but the half nearer the town remained.
